Re: albatrossmarine.co.uk website
I know the CMBA is not the same as the albatross marine website, but many boat enthusiasts will be familiar with both sites, and therefore I wondered if anyone who visits the CMBA site knows anything about the current status of albatrossmarine.co.uk. So I ask again: does anyone know anything about i...

albatrossmarine.co.uk website
Does anybody know whether the albatrossmarine.co.uk website is being maintained, or whether anyone has taken on the good service that it used to provide. eg restoration of boats, supply of spares etc.? There was a notice a while ago that it was going to be taken on by someone else. Anyone know any d...

Thrust bearing for Ford crossflow
Would anyone like to share any pictures or descriptions of ways in which a thrust bearing can be added to a Ford 1600 Crossflow fitted in an Albatross, in normal Albatross configuration with drive taken of the pulley end? I have heard of it being done in various ways, either within the timing cover,...

Air filters. Albatrosses etc
What does anyone do in terms of fitting an air filter to an Albatross, Delta or Simmonds type boat with (a) a Ford 100e, (b) a 1600cc Ford crossflow (twin choke weber carb), or (c) a 1700 Ford 204E (Zenith carb) engine? No sign of any having been fitted in the past. Is this normal? Are they (a) nece...

Albatross Continental engine cooling
Most of the Albatross Continentals I have seen (admittedly relatively few!) have had their original Ford 100e engine replaced with a 1600 crossflow. Do owners of any such boats have any comments on whether the hull cooling pods are adequate for cooling this engine? Some I have seen have abandoned th...

Aluminium/Duralumin sheet specification
Does anyone know the specification of a suitable modern aluminium/duralumin sheet for making a patch to repair the hull of an Albatross?
Or where it can be obtained?

Stainless steel bolts instead of rivets in Albatross?
Has anyone any comments on the suitability of countersunk head stainless steel bolts and nuts for fitting repair patches to an Albatross hull (ie floor)? Should the heads be 100 degree angle, like the rivets? If so, anyone know a source? Most seem to be 90 deg. Intention is to make a flush repair to...

Copper cylinder head gasket? Ford crossflow.
When replacing a cylinder head gasket in a marinised (raw water cooled) Ford 1600 cross flow, should I be looking for a copper based gasket rather than a steel based one?
If so, does anyone know where they are available?
