Re: Glastron SSV 178 & merc 115
As the transom board doesn't go the full width of the boat I was able to get away with just cutting away the splash well. https://scontent-ams3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpt1/v/t1.0-9/11705257_10203049826124925_8461460263554517998_n.jpg?oh=183d347943668533d47919b4bf2b04df&oe=5621C781 I'll just paint a ...

Re: 1960's skimcraft, cracked the skeg on the maiden voyage?
On your last photo a few inches out from the keel there looks to be a faint line caused by fiberglass repair that was not sanded down so it might have been a bad repair in the first place. Try cutting along the keel with a multi tool and I'd say it will just fall off then just copy the shape and rep...

Re: Glastron SSV 178 & merc 115
Don't judge a book by it's cover :grrr: Well I half expected this the transom is rotten so I'm going to split the boat in half and replace it along with the stringers, I was hopping to get a bit of use out of the boat this summer but that is so bad I'm not going to take the chance "not with my look"...

Well I picked up my little barn find today and after a bit of a wash she doesn't look too bad the floor seems good but there is a bit of movement in the transom. http://i753.photobucket.com/albums/xx179/fergalbutler/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-10/Glastron%20SSV%20178/11665870_10202993159828303_698687567_o...

Re: L.E.D trailer lights
My lights are fixed to each side of the trailer instead of a trailer board so LED's were the only way to go.

Re: Flexible shaft coupling
Very interesting little project, I love it :D My shaft is fitted direct to the engine with the coupling and any vibration is absorbed it the rubber in the cutlass bearing and engine mounts, if you can get the engine lined up right with the shaft it should be no problem. My stuffing box is filled wit...
