Hi Paul and welcome aboard! I think you may expect a wide ranging set of answers here - hopefully you'll get enough information to sift through to enable you to make the right decision... It may be useful to have some idea of budget as there's going to be quite a variance between a 'sorted' Albatros...

Maybe there was a bolt in there originally and the previous owner lost it and just replaced the whole thing. Jon - I take it you mean the drain plug? I stand to be corrected but I don't think that there was one on the bottom 'flotation tank' originally. The original drain is/was at the lowest point of the floor above that. Due to ingress of water, many owners just put an extra one in the bottom as well. Gi...

Yep, everything - that's the way to do it. Take all the fixtures and fittings off and store them, get the formica off the foredeck, remove that old transom plate etc. etc. Give it a good hose down and see what you've got...
