I wouldn't go as high as 600 between coats as it may not give enough bite for the next one, a long flexible sanding board will also help with the finish. You don't have to get it perfect between coats just fairly level it's not be a case of sanding down the high spots but more of filling in the low ...

Im on about 8 coats on the boat I just built but will be doing a few more over the winter as the wood is still settling down.
For posting photos I use photobucket and just copy the IMG and paste onto the post.

I used "International schooner gold" on my builds putting on each coat by roll and tipping let it set for a week or two then give it a light sanding before the next coat, my builds are outside so dust and bugs were a big problem the only thing I could do was wet the ground and everything around me b...

As far as I remember the bolts are 1/2 inch or 12.7 mm and the holes 17/32 in 13.5mm then just coat them in sealant, my boat had a wooden transom so I drilled my holes oversized and filled them with epoxy then when it was set I drilled out to 13.5 leaving a ring of epoxy to protect the wood and seal...

The tank straps were a bit rusted up and the chrome almost gone so back to the patio heater for another bit of stainless steal :) I opened up the band to fit over the heater drilled out the holes and bolted it on to hold it in place while I cut them out. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-aUuQvOw7vA...
