It was brand new fuel with a 50:1 mix, which is what Evinrude suggest for this age outboard. All it needs its the idle screw slightly adjusted, so it idles with a few more revs which should sort it!

These always need a carb service kit after so many years. Packing washers rot, rubbish accumulates under the core plugs, the floats (if cork) get porous and the float needle (is rubber) and wears. Also is inevitable that the slow/fast needles have been screwed so hard in that the seats are squared off, affecting running. The manual shows what the needles should look like but if they are anything but regular and pointy you'll know there's a problem.

We've now mounted the engine controls onto the side panel, and fitted both side panels into the boat! All the white poppers you can see will be replaced with red.

The dash is now in as well. We're going to inlay a piece of teak into the dash which will cover up all the screws, and the hole you can see is for the switch panel. A grab handles going on the right hand side of the dash as well.

All thats left to do now is the rear seat back board and the side padding to run along above each side pocket, and then some wiring!





All deck fittings are on now - original lights with LED bulbs, and horn







We've had a slight problem with the engine controls, the gear (black handle) fouls the vinyl pad around the dash! Design error!!! So we're going to pick back the vinyl and cut out the foam and the re-vinyl, leaving and arc where the handle used to foul. We're also going to get a bound loose lay carpet to fit to the floor of the same carpet material that used used to carpet the side pockets.
