Post by littlemo508 »

Hi,

I would like to find out some information on this 16ft speed boat project. All I know is it originally had an inboard engine.

Could this possibly be a Jack Broom?

Any info will be much appreciated

Cheers

Its an old Glastron, I'm not sure of the model number but if you Google in" Glastron boats" there's a very good web site in the states that has all the information / models etc, your one could be from the Late 60s through to the mid 70s, glastrons have been built under licence in the U.K. by three companys over the years, Union dynamics on the south coast built them during the mid 60s till early 70s, then Norman Fletcher from early 70s till mid 70s then Roger Clark marine mid 70s till late 80s, and some models were bought in complete from the states, yours could be an American built one, most of the inboard models come over from the U.S. as the engines were cheaper over there.

Looks like a mid 60s Futura V500 - the engine lid would have been the giveaway.

Yup loads of 'em if you Google it.
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!
