Albatross Register

Post by Editor »

Hi, can anyone tell me how to get in touch with the above?
Their website has no contact details, only a section to register a boat. I am long past being an owner, but would like to contact any Albatross owner in this area (Fens) who would be prepared to allow me to take measurements off their boat(s) for a set of modelmaking plans.
Or any other classic speedboat they may have!
This can be accomplished in less than a day.

many thanks,
Editor

You're welcome to come and measure my Continental Mk II, which is in Norwich.

I think you might have already done some measuring on this a while back though - in which case it'd be good to see you again!

Hi Rod,
I thought you'd moved to America!
I'd be happy to come over and have a measure up of your Continental. I did do some stuff before, but a lot has happened since and I have lost almost all my photos and drawings of various boats and most other items I measured for modelmaking.

I'll PM you.
And if I can get my little car to perform long enough to get me to Norwich, I'd love to pop over and see you.
Thanks.

There is a forum attached to that site but it's pretty new as the only members are the guy who set it up and me! :giggle: Obviously I registered in my search for a Sunbeam Alpine engined boat.

The URL is http://albatrossregister.freeforums.org/index.php :perfect:

Well the Albatross Register forum seems to have been taken down. It appears to be still there but, when I try to log on, all I get is "The specified username is currently inactive. If you have problems activating your account, please contact a board administrator." but with no way of doing so. :grrr:

Hi Editor,

I'm as well working on plans to build a RC scale replica of my 2 seater Albatross... I'm almost done with a Sketchup 3D model of it, from which I'll make my scaled plans ; ask me if interested, I'll send it as soon as i finish it.

Any updates on your side? Any progress on your plans?

Regards,
Jim
