Fixing Perspex Windscreen to deck

Post by dad10music »

Hi I have just had a new plastic windscreen made for my 16ft motor launch and need to secure it to the wooden deck. The original fixings were made from aluminium and have perished over the years. Does anyone know where I could get replacements or an alternative way of fixing the screen to the boat?

Is this what you're looking for? They're made of chromed monkey metal and don't last long. Sometimes you can get lucky at local chandlers or a boat jumble, but I've also looked long and hard at cutting down the ali coat hooks that Homebase/B&Q do.

This company does the Wing Brackets as well (suspect a typo in the price).

I need some for my Thunderball too, I have a friend in america who has previously helped as an in between on mail order sending me "presents" :) or even delivered when visiting UK typically at Christmas. $33 each though is still quite costly for the 4 or 6 needed per screen! Rapiers ali coat hooks sound like worth a look :perfect:
