Boat building - classic powerboat

Post by knarloid »

T15 and I are meeting up with the proud owner (and builder) of this beauty on Saturday for his first launch. :notworthy:

Expect a few good photos after we get back to our PCs afterwards.
We'll be doing our best to get him to join up here to include him in a future trip to Cardiff with us

Possibly a future Cardiff prize winner that looks to me. Nice to see an old Merc on it as well. Team Ireland will need it's own camping area set aside at this rate! :D
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

heres a link from our Irish forum on the big "first launch" of the Glen-L Malahini, at around 16' x 500lbs speed was around 27 mph with an odd prop.

It was a great day for a gread boat, well done Fergal

pics & vids start in post from " ralf " dated 7th

'Looks well' as you Oirish fella's would say. ;) Lovely, all seemed to go off very well & fun appeared to be had by all. I think a decent prop might help the speed a little, that type of prop must compromise performance for safety or we would all be using them. You boys must lean on him to join the CMBA & bring him to Cardiff.
