Broom Saturn Outboard Size

Post by TheMadSailor »

Hi all,

I am currently restoring a Broom Saturn, but I need an outboard for it. Can anyone advise me as to what size outboard I should look at to get it on the plane. I have watched the launch video of 'Gina', and 25hp doesn't seem to get it up on the plane, so I was thinking of something like a 40, but that then brings about worries about the transom.

Any advice is welcome!

Thanks.

Old powerhead rated is to 65hp. 50hp 4 cylinder Mercury 500 up to ca 1988/89 will top out at 35mph.
