Evinrude 35HP identification

Post by Fishhenge »

Hi, can anyone help me ID my new motor please? I have tried Googling various sites but none of them appear to deal with the Belgian motors.

The model number is 358B63R and the serial number is B5127. Any assistance gratefully appreciated! Martin.

Pictures will help.
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

According to this site yours is a 1978 35HP

Service parts from a 35hp of the same year should fit as Evinrude never made changes for the sake of it. This is a parts catalogue for a 1978 35HP albeit not the same serial as yours
