Hi all,
Spent the last three days trying to get engine started (missing Stewartby in the process) - it finally wimpered into life on Sunday evening at 9.00pm.
I would love to know a little more about these engines - Serial No 204E615 - Gear Box Serial No: 1007-55GB fitted with a Zenith VN2 Carb.
Distributor cap and leads are the touch contact type to the cap - anyone know where you can source new push on performance leads and cap to suit ?
Distributor housing - Lucas - part no 40631F - DM2 - requires replacing - any ideas where I can source replacement ?
Finally, fuel pump - Durite 0-673-12 is seriously struggling to pull fuel through - any ideas on an upgrade ?
Cheers

Can you post some pictures Darren, a few of us may recognise it.
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

I will post some pictures in the next day or two - I am pretty sure it is a Ford 1600cc
