Re: Chrome.

Yes, that's the link! I don't know why it got corrupted; sorry!

I'm tempted to pursue them with a phone call / e-mail to see if they can help. I'll advise how I get on.

Re: Chrome.

It appears that Morse offer(ed) replacement cables for the "Ride Guide" system. I tracked down the attached link; http://www.downloadingfiles.co.uk/teleflexfiles/library/marinedirectory/TMTechCat-MechStrg(v4_0)Steering%20Identification%20Guide.pdf This shows suitable replacement cables for original ...

Re: Chrome.

It is indeed a "ride guide" system; I'm sorry for not clarifying that at the outstet. I'll remove it from the boat and see if I can degrease it and then regrease it.

I'll keep you informed!

Re: Chrome.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me? I haven't used my boat for over a year, and last season, when I hadn't been on board for a few weeks, the steering would be very stiff and would only ease off after several full turns of the wheel from side to side. Re: Chrome.

Not long now........ apparently I get my boat back on Friday. The deck just needs adhering to the hull and the paintwork given a good polish and that's it! The weekend will therefore be spent putting much of the boat back together.

Re: Cowes Classic Week

That's a great site and a great concept!

Having raced on the Clyde for a long time, I've a great appreciation for the classics; try these links for more information on the "Fife's"

Re: Cowes Classic Week

Great photos - I raced on "Opposition" many times in the mid 1970's when she was on the Clyde (hence C.C.C - Clyde Cruising Club on her stern). The racing eight metre "if" just behind her in picture was also a Clyde based boat; built in 1930 (in Norway, I believe) - the original colour of "if" was w...

Re: Chrome.

All back together with no parts missing! I'm going to site the ignition switch in the control box this time since the new instrument binnacle has an overheating light where my old binnacle held the ignition switch. Also - it stops the dash getting chipped by swinging keys and the like.
