Hopefully with this post is a sketch of the set up I've used, you'll need to adapt it a bit to suit the layout of your boat. I asked my local automotive paint supplier for etch primer...no problem he says comes as a 2 pack. I used it with cellulose on top and its stayed on, even the prop paint.
