Re: Albatross Bow Pennant
I have a pennant somewhere, a member had a few printed many years ago and this was one. It has the 'side-badge' logo in silver on a navy blue background.Sea-Jay wrote:Hi,
Can anyone post a good picture, with dimensions, of a genuine Albatross bow pennant?
Chris
I'll hunt for it and scan it.

Loop Scavenging vs. Deflector pistons
In my dim & distant past I used to race karts, which in my class used (maybe still do for all I know) the old Villiers 9E motorbike engine. That was designed in something like 1948, and was loop scavenged ('loop charged' in the US). As a complete aside, my one and only claim to fame was that in 1973...

Re: ford v6 engine cooling
What's been described is the standard Delta V6 cooling system. Very few had heat-exchanger cooling, and even then probably not from the factory. The original belt-driven Jabsco pump is self-priming and shifts a lot of water - it's big by neoprene impeller pump standards. There should be a special mi...

Re: Coniston and Bluebird
Hope you've done the questionnaire, John (S.o.S.)...then you'll realise even better how crazy these bureaucrats are. If it moves, tax it (on each piece of water separately). If it's fast, restrict it. :grrr: People here are incredulous when I tell them that anyone can register a boat in the USA for ...

Re: British Anzani Racing Motors & History
Do the twin carbs feed just to the inlet ports under the piston skirts? If so, what's been done with the original secondary inlet tract via the crankshaft rotary valve? Strikes me that there could be some conflicts here...unless the crankshaft tract has been closed off somehow?

Re: Fuel tank
The system I've always used on old tanks is to find a bunch of small-ish stones, not too sharp and of varying size, put them in the tank along with some hot soapy water and shake around at all angles until your arms ache - then sit down, have a beer, and do it all again. The bigger the tank, the mor...

Re: Vinyl Striping Tape
There's a theory that using soapy liquid under decals etc can cause lifting later on, although I've never had a problem when using it. The alternative suggestion is to use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) mixed with water, which I think is what professional signwriters use. More info at http://ww...

If there's a story I don't know it - but Ray and Neville always called the bow cleats that, I reckon it had something to do with the stance of the cleat!
Dick Batters had a bunch of them a while back...at a price though.
