Re: Another Broom Saturn
The good news is I will have all of my summer holidays to try and restore something Looks like you're going for it then! In which case I'd suggest stringers, transom and hull repairs - that should occupy this summers holidays for a start :) I may be able to help you with a copy of 'Runabout Renovat...

It may be useful to have some idea of budget as there's going to be quite a variance between a 'sorted' Albatros...

Re: Saturn bottom bolt
Hmmm interesting :hmmm: Mine originally just had a non-matching plastic bung plug in there. Maybe there was a bolt in there originally and the previous owner lost it and just replaced the whole thing. I'll have to trawl through my archive of Broom pics and see if I can find anything. If it is...

Re: Saturn bottom bolt
Jon - I take it you mean the drain plug? I stand to be corrected but I don't think that there was one on the bottom 'flotation tank' originally. The original drain is/was at the lowest point of the floor above that. Due to ingress of water, many owners just put an extra one in the bottom as well. Gi...

Re: Another Broom Saturn
Yep, everything - that's the way to do it. Take all the fixtures and fittings off and store them, get the formica off the foredeck, remove that old transom plate etc. etc. Give it a good hose down and see what you've got...ADF wrote:Do you mean strip out everything until I literally have just a hull
