I didn't mention it but wrap the tank in an old blanket or something similar to stop it banging about in the mixer or you might end up having to fabricate a new one anyway!

It isn't unusual for the inlet to be some distance from the pump and if it is shifting water through & out the back then it is working but as to whether it is doing it correctly is difficult to tell. At the very least the pump should have new impeller fitted but it would be as well to fit a repair k...

With great care! They are glued on. I would try gently warming the rear of the faceplate with a hot air gun & see it that works, but be carefull.Rapier wrote:

Thinking about it I have also heard of VW van paint & a Toyota colour being used.

I agree with Rod but a good option - if the tank will fit & one is available, is to put the tank with it's stones/nuts/gravel into a cement mixer & leave it running for a while then turn the tank over & off you go again! I have had great success with an old car tank with this method & it's easier on...

Normally there is a 'Jabsco' type pump with a neoprene type impellor which sucks in the cooling water from outside the boat & circulates it around the cooling system, sometimes this is aided by a scoop on the intake. What happens to that cooling water depends on what type of system you have. The sim...
