Kauri, wooden inboard speedboat
NTDWM. I have been asked to find a home for "Kauri" a small wooden speedboat powered by a 105e engine with aquaplane marinisation parts. It was restored by the late Geoff Bryant, some members will remember it from Cardiff, Windermere and Loch Lomond. At that time it had no windscreen but is believe...

Re: Hand Throttle
No probs at all, just ring me if its needed.
Weather has been very good here so far, had quite a few outings to the river, even managed to recruit a new member!
Best to you both.

Re: Hand Throttle
Hi Al,
All my Deltas have hand throttles which is just a stainless bar welded to a large washer. This mounts onto a bolt with a friction washer welded to a small plate.
If you get stuck I'll make you one.

Re: york rally
David, as you attended the rally previous the slip owners knew you were a CMBA member, the boat probably gave a clue also. There has been lots of change at the slipway, notably no working on boats and returning the boats once recovered into the boat park area to strap up and not leave in front of th...

york rally
Just a few updates regarding the York rally this coming weekend. The slipway is under new management and the launch fee has increased from £10 to £15, which is imo not extortionate. It will be busy being the bank holiday and following the action of a cmba member a couple of weeks ago it has been ask...

Re: thrust bearing.
Escort mk1 gearbox input shaft main bearing, unless its been altered to later type9 which is larger.
As Alacrity says use Part no's or just mic it. Lots of Online bearing suppliers.
Circlip grooved bearings will be 3 or 4 times more expensive, std casing type can easily be machined in a lathe.

Re: Lucky escape number 2, bit closer to home!!!!!
Not unless you want to sing soprano all your life! I have seen a similar handbrake fail before at my local slip, the guys wife luckily was out of the car but as it rolled in the river with the husband shouting "stop the car dear stop the car" she grabbed hold of the front bumper and was dragged alon...
