WELCOME to the 16th Cardiff Bay Rally offering a fun filled long weekend of both shore based activities and plenty of quality time boating on the fresh water around Cardiff Bay. As with previous years, our CMBA members are kindly invited by Cardiff Yacht Club (CYC) as their guests for the duration of the rally, receiving full use of club house facilities to include; Spacious lounge bar with uninterrupted views enjoyed across Cardiff Bay from the veranda & sun patio, shower & toilet facilities, slipway, pontoons, mooring, parking for cars & trailers and designated areas for camping tents & motorhomes. In all, it's a fantastic venue for family fun boating.The clubhouse is situated in a super location, on the Hamadryad Peninsula within easy access to the bustling Mermaid Quay offering a wide selection of bars, restaurants, places of interest, just a few minutes' drive away by car, a 10 - 15 min walk or a cruise by boat, with free pontoon mooring available to CMBA members for the weekend. For first timers to Cardiff, the bay is a dock regeneration area with 500 acres of non-tidal freshwater, held in by an impressive barrage and lock gate system and the best bit;

The main body of the open water doesn't have a speed limit! A 5 knot restriction applies within the yellow buoyed areas and the Taff and Ely rivers. It is also the venue for formula powerboat championships, ski racing and numerous dinghy and yacht races throughout the year.
Places to visit by boat: - Mermaid Quay is the central hub with the train station also situated here, taking you into Cardiff City Centre; ideal for those who fancy a bit of quality shopping! Take a tea or coffee break and receive a free welsh cake at The Lookout Café whilst enjoying views from the terrace across the bay, or visit Penarth Marina, where Pier 64 and Compass Coffee can be found, if you really want to push the boat out, call in at the Old Customs House, with the grand El Puerto Restaurant. Enjoy a stroll around Penarth or across the barrage. Take a leisurely meander up and down the River Ely, but don’t go under the low three arched, stone built bridge.

The word "Cinderella" has, by analogy, come to mean one whose attributes were unrecognized,
or one who unexpectedly achieves recognition or success after a period of obscurity and neglect.
