Gets my goat..boat but not classic related.

Post by Rapier »

£16 million, German owner with no purpose, what a huge spend, no useful application, hanging on the shirt-tails of a solar powered agenda. Did it prove anything? So what, I ask. Did they agree to climate-change concessions the moment this lot pitched up? Ok, chaps we've got to go with this, it's the future on our doorstep..solar power; just the way to go. We 'll call it the Toyota Prius Of The Sea, a middle lane speedster, built for the terribly enlightened.

What worries me is the batteries, theres a lot of nasty stuff in batteries.the mining of these materials is not very green.the disposing of them is another issue alltogether. Some of my clients are getting earache from there wives because they are in range rovers,i tell them to ask Toyota what there responsabilities are
regarding the disposel of these batteries and the cost to the enviroment.Just imagine if all cars had the amount of batteries they have.Guess what toyota doesnt seem to have a plan at least there saleman dont know about it.Well it stoped the wives nagging anyway ,i cant afford to lose ant more customers ,got a classic boat to buy. :hmmm:
Totaly wasted exercise i think on this mans behalf. We all know it can be done how much pollution making it.I wont even start on wind generators

We are increasingly fed with all sort of baloney under the premise that its green and good for the enviroment .Witness the recent car scrappage scheme were 1000's of perfectly good serviceable cars were sent to the crusher , and the government passed it off as a green exercise!
However the oil will run out one day guys , hopefully i will be long dead by then .
The Germans solar power "speed"boat i wouldnt worry too much Rapier he would have only wasted his cash on sausages otherwise.

Hear hear  , at last someone else who see's through this eco-baloney. All these idiots that buy a Prius (pious the people should be labled) or similar for environmental reasons are being suckered in by the marketing people. The zero to zero eco damage of these pieces of c##p are going to be much worse than a conventional car. Yes they might be clean while Mr & Mrs grey shoes use them to go bowling, but as Catweazle rightly says the production & disposal of these awful vehicles will be horrendous as an eco issue. :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed:
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

haha :woo: I thought I was alonein my crusade to enlighten people in how daft this green stuff is, we need to do something but not panda to business/corporations and money making excuses.

I saw clients cars scrapped, many were near mint. A 1997 Volvo V40 with under 30K chopped for a new VW golf and scrapped..I ask you.

Apparantly in USA the most breen vehicle from beginning to end is the jeep! reckoned it would be land rover here if it were looked into.

I don't know how many more years I have left on this planet but I intend to use what ever I have in burning fossil fuel and enjoying it. All this electrickery is the biggest con since they asked me to vote on joining the Common Market. If there is a future in i/c engines it must be hydrogen fuel cells with the only biproduct being H2O. Battery power cars are in the same bractket as wind power turbines, a sop to ill informed greens. If you want fun then there is no substitute for cubic inches and high octane unleaded fuel. There I feel better for that, I'm sure there will be a lot of people who call me an uninformed selfish b*****d, to which my reply is B******s I'm fed up of being conned in rip off Britian. :hilarious:

hehe assegai :hilarious: , well this old selfish b-----d got moaned at the other day by a school mum when I dropped the weeniest one to school in the TR6, told it was a stinky smelly fuel gussler..... :chuffed:  I did laugh as she attempted to park a Hyundai tonka toy 4x4. The plastic alone in her blob caused more enviromental damage than driving my TR for the rest of my life.

Ill informed and polititians encourage it...fany a revolution anyone? :giggle:

Recently asked in a Honda shop about their Civic Hybrid thinghy - 'can you fit a towbar?' ' fraid not sir, towing would burn out the electric motors!' About as useful as a chocolate teapot then.

Whilst writing I am a great supporter of offshore windfarms - since the government have chucked millions of our quids into the 'green' malarky, the renewable industry has ordered loads of crew boats and support boats to service the things. Absolutely brilliant for my customers, can't build boats fast enough!!!
