On tuesday 5th june (a bank holiday)the 3 QUEENS (liners) will be playing up and down the Solent followed by firewoks before setting off on seperate voyages--a good day for an ITCHEN & SCRATCHEN ?

Is the weekend of the Loch Lomond Rally, which means we'll be down on numbers, as well as a high liklihood of complete chaos at the slipway, with lots of aggressive yobbos fighting to launch / recover properly and the normals who don't wait their turn.

An alternative may be Hamble Point Marina, they charge about £25 for use of the slipway etc, but its normally quite quiet for the same reason

Hamble point slip is terrible , if you do not fall over on the weed you are likely to be swept of it by the tide . You might try Mercury though.

The tide can whip along there for sure, used it a couple of times alst year tho and didnt have any problems, and the fact you can use the pontoons next to it helps. We also use Calshot quite a bit, the smaller slipway in the basin is nice but very tidal, the main one can be a bit windy.
