John Boggis wrote:Low water is at 9.33 on the 29th. For those using the Hythe slip it is best to avoid 2 hours either side of low water so no need for a very early start. Arrive about 10.30, breakfast in the local café and launch 11.15ish.

About 30mins earlier for the Crosshouse Lane slip, we'll have the other 4-5 boats to get in and will rendezvous on your side like last time.

I've not been on this run before so I'm not sure where I'm going, could anyone give me some directions or a post code for the best place for me to slip?

Cheers

The slip is in Crosshouse road, Southampton, I don't know the post code for it, however, I deal with a company at the top end of Crosshouse road, I'll give you the post code for that, when you get there, just carry on past for a 100mtrs or so to the end of the road and you will be at the slip. Here's everything you need to know about getting there and where to park etc, etc.

Look forward to it - am going to check what the state of the tide is midday-ish at The Jolly Sailor, as we may not have enough water to get in at out normal time.

Options are to eat later and take out chances with the Saturday pub crowd / moorings (raft up if there is not enough space) or find somewhere else to eat.

We're not going to have enough water at The Jolly Sailor on Sat, was just enough at 12h20 today, unless we go in at 13h15 or so (I think!)

Sun Inn at Warsash is fine to eat at, but mooring at the Harbour Master's Jetty is £6 per boat, and they will charge another £4 per boat for harbour dues.

The Victory, Bugle, King&Queen are all accessible from the Hamble Jetty, but again is the same charges.

Moodys Swanwick Marina has water at all states of the tide and The Doghouse to eat at - I have a mate who'll check mooring facilities out front, this afternoon.

Anyone else have bright ideas?

Great day and great company, as always, despite my boat troubles  . Thank you to Mike and Al for lifts and a drive of his Wiff. No pics yet - my camera decided it needed a new home, so will spare you the shakey vids and blurred mugshots for awhile longer.
