What a balloon I am.........! The file size was correct but the dimensions weren't - attached is the upholstery sample together with the original piece. It is a far better match "in the flesh" than it appears here.

Looks good, glad you are sorted.
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

Hello Nick,
Thanks for the contact details.
I think I may have sorted it locally (I'm in Scotland) by sourcing the vinyl from the manufacturer and getting a chap in Scotland to re-upholster.
If that plan falls apart i'll get in touch with your contact.
Many thanks.

It has been a while since I posted on here.
The refurbishment has stalled a bit since I have been working on getting my Broom Pisces back to full health following the engine rebuild.
The images below will be familiar to many an owner of a 70's Glastron that has tackled a refurbishment - the removal of the foam buoyancy material.

After a good jet washing today, the bilges are nearly ready for painting.

Re: Glastron Carlson CV 19 SS (1974)
Over the years, successive owners have "personalised" my boat by adding features that they deemed essential - extra cleats, additional lights, horns, grab handles, etc, etc..
I am removing these to get back to as close to original as I can.
This gives me a dilemma; do it fill the holes they have bored and try to match up the metal flake gel coat or do I go for a full metal flake respray?
Whilst I originally shied away from a respray, I have seen images of some impressive work done in the USA.
Can anyone advise on this from personal experience?
Also, does anyone know of a place that has experience in this type of work?
Many thanks.

Re: Glastron Carlson CV 19 SS (1974)
I sold my CV-16SS to a guy in Derbyshire who has already ordered the bronze metal-flake paint from the US by the time his driver came to pick it up - let me know if you want to go the full respray route (which I would have done in hindsight, as mine was faded and dull) and I'll try to find his email address to pick his brains.
I've often just put a raised stainless csk into the holes - especially where 100s of cover fastenings have been used..somehow the eye isn't drawn to them quite like many slightly off looking gel repairs - see the Green Goddess below...would have been a nightmare trying to match that!
