Hi all,
I recently bought a restoration project Dolphin 19. I came with a little Evinrude Yachtwin (hopelessly small except for a stand-by!) but I have decided to restore it.
I think the engine is around mid- 1960s, they made different horsepowers I believe and I am not sure what mine is (it may be 3hp)
The questions I have are:
How can I find out from the serial number what the HP is?
Ditto what year?
Where can I buy the correct paint (off-white and metallic blue)?
Where can I buy the decals
Ditto spares
Hope someone can help!

Model year lookup:- http://www.maxrules.com/models/OMC_mode ... ex_79.html
BRP parts catalogue to help identify part numbers http://epc.brp.com/Index.aspx?lang=E&s1 ... f916ac6697
Parts UK:-http://home.btconnect.com/southcoastmarine/Spares.html
Or in the US http://www.seawaymarine.com/
Pattern parts http://www.sierramarine.com/pdfcatalog/ ... hmain.html
Decals / paint :- http://www.nymarine.ca/
A fair few of the service items are shared across the range of the time, coils points etc. If not already done I would certainly replace both coils with pattern ones from Sierra as elderly originals are renowned for cracking and giving trouble. Before going too far it is probably best to give it a basic clean and service and a run so that you know its a goer before you get in too deep.
They are nice little basic motors but as you say not man enough for your boat, more suited to a dinghy
Good luck,
