Hello 1500GT pre crossflow , they are not as plentiful as they used to be , you could look at ebay or maybe try posting a wanted ad at 105speed.com forum . i know there is some interest in pre crossflow and crossflow motors there.
It is not too difficult to turn a standard 1500 into a GT1500 just a question of swapping out parts .
I would look for a 1600 crossflow this is the easier option , still a classic, and a stronger motor than the pre crossflow. with more plentiful tuning goodies and availability although prices are rising.
If you must have the pre crossflow but are unable to find a complete motor , You can bolt the pre crossflow head to the crossflow bottom end if you use flat top pistons , thus gaining the crossflow strength and extra cubic capacity . It all comes down to cash or you may be lucky and find or pick up some bargains.
Some thoughts....You can buy a brand new crated 2.0 zetec motor on ebay for £700 , You may spend double that on reconditioning an old motor.. its worth thinking about.
Regards Rob

Why does it need a new engine? Is the old one badly corroded?? If not can't you rebuild the old one, they are pretty simple to say the least?

Just a thought. :)
