Another Mercury 115
Please - can anyone tell me if this is the correct faceplate for a 1971 (redband) Mercury 115 - looks to be nice and straight, (most of the ones I have seen on eBay have been knocked about) this one is available for £30, and I intend buying a decal set from the USA

Correct apart from the decals, these are post '73. The '71 would, I think, have a plastic emblem in the centre. I think I bought one of you some years back!
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!

Thanks for all the info guys - I will go ahead and get this one because the alloy is so straight, and keep an eye out for the plastic emblem - just goes to show - I should hang onto stuff but never thought I would tackle one of these again
