Hi guys, an easy question and I'm being lazy! rather than play with my meter I thought I would ask, I have no manual and am a Merc virging
Will the kill switch on my Merc 40 (circa 1980) be a make or a break? jonny rudes i have done before but not the Merc.
Prop is stuck fast too so hopefully a thrashing in Sotton water will loosen it up otherwise the impellor etc all looked well maintained and plenty of fresh grease on bolts etc.

Re: Kill on Merc 40HP
They are normally a 'make' switch which shorts a terminal on the switchbox to earth. Not familar with the late models such as yours but I would expect it to be the same.
Mercs are like women, no 2 are exactly alike. That's what testing is about. In general it is safer to test motors and props than women!
